In an increasingly interconnected and complex world today, and in the face of powerful and organized opposition, collaboration between social movements and NGOs emerges as an immensely potential force for social change. By leveraging their respective strengths, fostering mutual empowerment, and addressing key challenges, collaborative partnerships between the two entities can drive transformative impact, advance human rights, and build more just and equitable societies while ensuring the safety of the actors.

In the understanding that the synergy between social movements and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) holds immense potential for driving and advancing social change, Global Grassroots Support Network together with Amnesty International Kenya, Amnesty International East Africa The Horn and Great Lakes, Beautiful Troubles, and Africa Coaching Network intends to host a 120 minutes hybrid session at the upcoming Democracy Move Conference 2024 to explore strategies for building collaborative approaches between these two entities to drive impactful reforms.

The conversation will seek to explore the dynamics, benefits, and challenges of such partnerships, highlight strategies to maximize their effectiveness and develop action steps for creating an enabling space for such collaborations. The conversation will bring together actor presents, partners, and funders seeking to explore and support this collaborative approach.
